We are now using Bulb Energy for our gas and electricity at Sladen Lodge. The electricity is 100% renewable and the gas is 10% renewable so fits nicely with our EQM policies to reduce our impact on the environment.

September has been a very busy month for us and we were very excited to welcome 3 new business clients to the Lodge, being Ainscough Crane Hire, Halfords and Kelloggs.
We hope to see them again in the future.
We are pleased and proud to announce that we have recently been awarded runner up prize in the Unique Holiday Cottages Awards in the Unique Country House category. We will be featuring in the October issue of The Derbyshire Magazine on Friday.
We recently hosted an event for Coloplast and received this wonderful feedback afterwards and hope to welcome them back in the future:- "Honestly I thought your service was exceptional. The accommodation is beautifully decorated, very clean, spacious for a group that size which enabled me to alternate the work spaces and keep others purely for meal times and rest. The food was amazing: ingredients, choice, variety, home cooked beautifully - and having it prepared for breakfast and lunch was a real help and facilitated more time for the working sessions. I also found you and your staff are very warm, friendly and incredibly helpful. Overall you were a really fabulous find and I would not hesitate to recommend you or use your place again myself for other events."
Sladen Lodge is pleased to announce that we have switched energy supplier to Ovo Energy who are supplying us with renewable electricity at a very competitive price, not only saving us money but also helping the environment.
Julie Colley, owner of Sladen Lodge, was very proud to receive the Environmental Quality Mark Award at a special 10th anniversary dinner.
Cllr Tony Favell, chair of the Peak District National Park Authority, presented the awards during an evening ceremony at Thornbridge Hall, near Ashford in the Water.
Cllr Favell said: "The success of the Environmental Quality Mark scheme is down to the people involved and the passion they demonstrate in creating unique products and services that help look after the environment as well as local people and communities."
"Each of these businesses supports their local economy, works to reduce their environmental impact, plays an active role in their local community and helps conserve the Peak District National Park."
Sladen Lodge was very pleased to be the hosts to the Mountain Ash Welsh Male Voice Choir who performed in Hathersage to raise funds for Alzheimers and Medecins sans Frontieres.
As you can see from the above video the boys took the opportunity of warming up with a couple of traditional Welsh tunes in the comfort of the Lodge. After a fabulous concert the choir regrouped in the back room of Hathersage Memorial Hall and together with 6 barrels of the finest Derbyshire ale they continued to entertain the many guests that remained. A large hearty breakfast rounded off another wonderful trip and we look forward to welcoming them back in the not too distant future.
The Peak District is a wonderful place to visit at any time of the year. We were especially lucky this November to have some superb weather to enjoy the spectacular scenery nearby.

A lovely group from the Sheffield University stayed at Sladen Lodge during October and took part in some duck herding as a team building activity which was great fun. They also left us the following feedback:
"Thank you very much to everyone at Sladen Lodge - our entire team really enjoyed the two days we spent there last week. The accommodation is a very high standard, and the food was exceptional (especially lunch on the first day, the fish-eaters in particular really enjoyed it). It was really nice having friendly people on hand if we needed anything, but were also very unobtrusive so we felt able to relax and enjoy the space to its full potential. From my perspective, organising the event was very easy; you have been very quick to reply to all queries and been accommodating to all our requests."
