ACCESSIBILITY

WHAT ACCESSIBLE MEANS TO US

We acknowledge that accessibility requirements are not just for those with wheelchairs. There are people who have a variety of different physical accessibility restrictions including elderly people, families with young children, people with allergies, hearing, mobility, or visual impairments, and those who are just a bit ‘wobbly’ e.g. after an operation. We aim to provide suitable accommodation for all of these people.  We are working towards accreditation from VisitEngland under the National Accessible Scheme but in the meantime please see our access statement.

WHAT INCLUSIVE MEANS TO US

For us this means ensuring that while we aim to improve our accessibility for one person, we don’t make the Lodge inaccessible for another. This is particularly important when we think of disabilities that aren’t obvious like dementia or autism. We aim to be as inclusive as we can to cater for people with wider and differing needs, both physical and mental.

 ACCESSIBILITY AT SLADEN LODGE

We are delighted that you have found us and recognise that choosing the most suitable property to spend special time with family and friends and then securing a booking can be difficult.  We would like to help make this as stress-free as possible – please call us for advice or for support during booking.

Getting to the Lodge couldn’t be easier with buses stopping at the bottom of the drive and trains a 10 minute walk away.  Please see our ‘Find Us webpage for information about transport and travel options.

On arrival at the Lodge you will find a car park for up to 10 cars.  The car park is sloping and in places this is quite steep.  There is space to park one car at the top of the slope adjacent to the ramp leading to the entrance.  Alternatively, steps lead up to the well lit patio in front of the main entrance.  There is a step up into the front door.

Once inside you will enjoy the open plan layout where all rooms are at the same level.  The colours are bold with contrasting walls and doors.

    • All rooms on one level

    • All doors and walls have bold colour contrast

    • All doors have lever handles

    • South facing with lots of natural light

    • Patio and garden are level
