Hathersage has superb public transport links and we would encourage you to leave your car behind and start your holiday without the stress of driving. Hathersage train station is 10 minutes walk from the Lodge and buses stop at the bottom of the drive. Whilst the train line passes nearby Sladen Lodge, it does not affect the vast majority of guests. The train service runs from Sheffield to Manchester via Hathersage. It takes approximately 15 minutes from Sheffield and 1hr from Manchester. The stop in Hathersage is 10 minutes walk from the Lodge. Trains run most hours.

The 271/272 service runs from Sheffield to Castleton via Hathersage. It takes approximately 30 minutes from Sheffield Interchange- ask to get off at the bridge in Hathersage.

Please be aware that this postcode covers a large area and Sladen Lodge driveway is located on the A6187 immediately beside the railway bridge on the outskirts of Hathersage.

APPROACHING FROM GRINDLEFORD/SHEFFIELD (A6187)
Take the A6187 which goes through Hathersage towards Castleton. Once you have passed the George Hotel on your right look out for the railway bridge some 200m further on. Sladen Lodge drive is on the right immediately before you go under the bridge.
APPROACHING FROM BAMFORD / BRADWELL OR CASTLETON (A6187)
You will approach Hathersage on the A6187 from Bamford/Bradwell or Castleton. On passing the 30mile speed restriction sign the road bends to the left and Sladen Lodge drive is on the left immediately after you have passed under the railway bridge. The drive is a very sharp turn back on yourself and we therefore recommend that you continue past the drive, turn around in the village and return for easier access.
